Hey guys....this is something I am trying to become part of because they deal with trying to find ways to help stop prematurity in babies and give those babies who are born premature a better chance of survival. Right now statistics show that 1 in 8 births results in a premature birth. That is pretty scary. In my case it was caused by severe pre-eclampsia that went undetected and nearly proved fatal. In fact I didn't have another day...I had a matter of hours to get to a hospital before it would have killed Kian and I both. Pre-eclampsia is just one of many things that causes premature births. The bad thing about it is that even though it is something that has been around for eons...the doctors still know VERY little about it. I had ONE doctor in about 20 that I dealt with that figured out I had it despite the fact I wasn't spilling protein in my urine. Just to give you an idea how rare it is...roughly 2 to 8% of women suffer from pre-eclampsia. Of those 2 to 8% only 5% are like me and don't spill protein and it goes undetected which can prove potentially fatal. It can be potentially fatal either way but at least if it is diagnosed the doctors know what they are dealing with. In my case they didn't until it was almost too late.
